Unity Square Phase 1 is part of the £250million Nottingham Southern Gateway scheme. The building offers 62,000m2 of Grade A office accommodation over ten storeys for the HMRC. The full steel structure, totalling 2,500 tonnes, was subject to Firespec’s renowned thorough inspection regime throughout application of intumescent coatings. The steel board encasements systems and fire stopping, primarily in the core and basement areas, were scrutinised regularly during construction to ensure accurate installation of the manufacturer’s tested details.
