Firespec were contracted to perform a series of consultations and inspections across the construction phase of this substantial £40million, 116 room residential, nursing and dementia care facility. The initial phase of the project involved a collaborative workshop between the main contractor, installation contractor and Firespec to identify the likely mechanical and electrical service penetrations through fire compartment walls and floors, to specify the fire stopping solutions required at each and to build a mock-up of the sub-contractor’s proposals. Following installation of these into the sample room and the proposals being developed further; Firespec then provided inspection services to ensure fully compliant installations throughout the remainder of the scheme.
