Firespec were thrilled to be invited on site to monitor the compliance of structural steel fire protection at the vast Haymarket Development in Edinburgh. The prestigious scheme by the Qmile group is an estimated £350M investment, and the total project spans around four acres.

Sir Robert McAlpine’s dedication to ensuring the protection of the structures led to numerous visits by Firespec across three buildings to monitor on-site coatings. Regular visits were also carried out to the offsite paint facility to ensure coating works were meeting the structural fire protection specification. In total, the intumescent coatings on approximately 60,000M² of steel have been assured as compliant.
